Guest Lecture by Professor Anne Grünewald on Mitochondrial Signaling in Parkinson’s Disease

ProtectMove is pleased to announce an upcoming guest lecture by Professor Anne Grünewald, an internationally recognized researcher in mitochondrial biology and neurodegeneration. Her lecture, entitled “Mitochondrial Signaling in Parkinson’s Disease,” will explore how disturbances in mitochondrial signaling pathways contribute to the onset and progression of Parkinson’s disease.

The lecture will take place on Tuesday, 19 August 2025, at 9:30 AM in the BMF Seminar Room, 4th Floor.

In her talk, Professor Grünewald will present recent findings on mitochondrial maintenance mechanisms beyond mitophagy and discuss their relevance for neurodegeneration. She will also highlight how impaired mitochondrial signaling may open new perspectives for disease prevention and address emerging insights into the disrupted metabolic support function of astrocytes in Parkinson’s disease.

Professor Grünewald holds a bridging professorship at the University of Luxembourg and the Institute of Neurogenetics at the University of Lübeck. Her work connects molecular neuroscience with translational research and has made important contributions to our understanding of Parkinson’s disease and related neurodegenerative processes.

ProtectMove warmly invites all members of the academic and scientific community to attend this special event.
