Carolin Gabbert Successfully Defends PhD Thesis on Gene–Environment Modifiers in Parkinson’s Disease

On October 11, Carolin Gabbert successfully defended her PhD thesis, “Gene-Environment Modifiers in Parkinson’s Disease,” earning the highest distinction of summa cum laude.

Her research examined the interplay of genetic, environmental, and lifestyle factors in shaping disease susceptibility, age at onset, and clinical severity in Parkinson’s disease. By addressing how multiple influences contribute to disease manifestation and progression, her work aligns closely with the goals of ProtectMove to better understand the mechanisms underlying neurological and movement disorders.

ProtectMove warmly congratulates Dr. Gabbert on this outstanding achievement and wishes her continued success in her future scientific career.
