Entering the final year of ProtectMove and moving forward

Our Research Unit FOR2488 is about to enter into its final year. We are looking forward to twelve more months of exciting projects and novel findings. All of our previous efforts have shown how much there still is to unravel with respect to reduced penetrance in hereditary movement disorders. Thus, we were encouraged to transition our insights and new ideas to the next level by drafting a proposal for a Collaborative Research Center (Sonderforschungsbereich, SFB) for consideration by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG). The draft proposal on reduced penetrance and expressivity in hereditary brain disorders is currently under review.

Illustrating the preparatory phase of CRC1695

Assembling people and ideas to build the draft proposal for CRC1695: brainstorming conference in Lübeck in September 2021 with Prof. Thomas Gasser as keynote speaker, followed by research retreats at the European Academy in Bolzano, Italy (Aninstitute of the University of Lübeck) in June 2022, and at the University of Lübeck in September 2022, and several online meetings (Webex and gather.town).
